Ministry Week
Making a real impact in real lives.
“RFA" (ready for anything!)
Another unique aspect of the ministry programme is the week-long Ministry Week.
Students are grouped into teams and assigned a community church somewhere in the North Island. Assisted by Capernwray staff members, the students learn various aspects of ministry by working alongside a local church. During a preparation week, teams plan the Ministry Week in conjunction with the church and Capernwray staff.
The Ministry Week programme can take on many forms, from running kids’ programming to leading church services, Bible studies, Bible-in-Schools and serving the local community in practical ways.
We aim to train and equip students to use their gifts in a ministry environment. Ministry Week is also intended to stretch the students, moving them outside their comfort zones to find that dependance on Christ and each other is a beautiful opportunity to grow. There are many surprises over the week, so our favourite phrase is “RFA" (ready for anything)!
