Since 1995, our dedicated team has come from different walks of life and corners of the globe, all working together with one common goal and heartfelt desire - to create a place where students can grow in their relationship with Christ. Meet our wonderful team at Capernwray New Zealand:
National Director
Faith, family and football are three of Ross's passions. Actually, he also mountain bikes and plays disc golf with his wife and their two adult boys. Ross is our National Director. He brings a wealth of experience and strengths in mission and visionary leadership. Having lived 50% of his life in Europe, he now loves serving staff and students in, this our beautiful country.
Hospitality Assistant
Joelle comes from Canada, born in British Columbia then moved to Alberta for most of her life until she followed Gods call to come to New Zealand to be a student for what she thought would be nine months. Now, after being a student for a year Joelle joins the Capernwray staff team where she can grace the community with her joyful and loving personality as well as explore Gods beautiful creation in NZ!
Resident Assistant
Having grown up in South Africa, Nico came to New Zealand in 2019 with his family. After completing high school here, he became a student at Capernwray where God stirred some things in his heart. Nico now works at Capernwray as one of the Resident Assistants but continues to learn what it means to rely on God.
Office Administrator | Registrar
Originally from the UK, Annette joined the team in 2019. Annette is married to Bruce with two adult children. She loves to read, bake and spend time with her family.
Cook
Sam is a local Kiwi. She grew up, near Capernwray, in Hamilton. She attended Capernwray Hall Bible School in 2019 | 2020. She has experience in catering from camps around New Zealand and some of her time at Capernwray Hall. Sam joined us in 2022 and she loves working with the students, gaining friendships and blessing them
through food.
Maintenance Intern
Kristopher comes from a small town in Alberta, Canada where he was born and raised, both physically and spiritually. He came to Capernwray NZ as a student for 9 months and that is where he really grew closer to the Lord Jesus. Kris enjoys doing many practical things and serving in that way, as well as exploring kiwi country in his spare time!
Business Manager
Glenn is a local, growing up close to the Monavale Campus. After many years overseas, he returned to NZ and joined the Capernwray NZ staff in 2007. He gains immense personal satisfaction in his support role by seeing the lives of students and others enriched through a closer personal relationship with Christ. Glenn and his wife Mags have a teenage son, and all have a love of the great Kiwi outdoors.
Hospitality Assistant
Ashley has come from Alberta farming to the kiwi kitchen to serve. She was a student at Torchbearers centre, Timberline Colorado in 2022 | 2023 and is now thankful to be part of Capernwray New Zealand

Faculty Assistant
Bethany is a Kiwi Canadian of Jewish heritage. She is passionate about walking alongside others as they discover who Jesus is and as they learn what it looks like to be His disciple. In her role she seeks to encourage connection between our students and the local community
Resident Assistant
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Samantha has been living in New Zealand since July 2023. She came to Capernwray as a student and has since joined with the staff team. Serving the Lord in this tight-knit community, she looks forward to continuing in the ministry set before her.
Office Administrator
Sharon-Louise enjoys the varied tasks in the office, assisting both staff and students. She feels blessed to be part of a ministry that has the life of Jesus at its heart. Sharon-Louise is married to Craig and enjoys filling their gardens with flowers to give away, baking sweet treats and trying new crafts.
Hospitality Manager
Larisa joined our team in January 2016. She has a background in health care and has also served in the UK with Oak Hall Expeditions, Youth with a Mission (YWAM) and in NZ with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).

Programme Manager
Jesa is a certified raft, bike and ski guide with experience in New Zealand, Canada and Japan. He loves how God uses the discomfort of the wilderness for us to learn reliance and in doing so draws us to Himself.

Programme Assistant
Pat is a Kiwi who has been at Capernwray since 2023. He likes to play instruments and sports. He loves God, although not nearly as much as God loves him. He is excited to journey alongside others on ABS and in the wider Capernwray community.
Academic Dean
Having deeply enjoyed her own opportunities for formal study of God’s Word, Carey is genuinely delighted to be part of student learning here at Capernwray. She considers it a great privilege to journey with people as they discover the beautiful reality of being in Christ. Carey reads a lot, loves to dance, enjoys all things music, and rarely says no to a good game of soccer.
Adventure Ministries Instructor
Kim has previously enjoyed working in outdoor education and loves being in God creation. Now coming to Capernwray she is enjoying bringing the two together and finding enjoyment serving God's kingdom
Pastoral Dean
Katrina is originally from Tennessee and has served with Torchbearers for 8 years including 6 years at Capernwray Australia and as a field representative. Katrina's passion and joy is sharing the life of Christ with everyone she meets.
Garden | Grounds
The gardens at Capernwray New Zealand are often admired. Anneloor, our wonderful gardener, quietly works away to keep everything looking beautiful in her deft and joyful way.

Adrian grew up on a farm and became a Christian not long after marrying his wife Sharon. Adrian has been at Capernwray since 2023 and he is loving that it is an amazing place to learn more about the Lord and grow in his walk with Him.
